The 3rd entry in the "Beethoven, Bravura and Beyond" series features my most playful program yet, consisting of short to medium length works that traverse many styles and eras. Beethoven's Electoral Sonata No. 3 in D major contains his first masterpiece: a set of charming variations that make up its central movement. To celebrate this early achievement, the rest of the program will feature several sets of variations, including those on a popular tune that will appear both before and after intermission. Come and be dazzled, moved, and maybe a little challenged by a completely unique recital.
